The Hong Kong Green Mark Certification Scheme is an important initiative of the HKGMA. The scheme is operated by the Hong Kong Q-Mark Council of the Federation of Hong Kong Industries. The scheme's ultimate goal is to enhance the environmental management standard of companies.
HKGMA's members span across companies of many different industries, and with environmental conservation becomes increasing important, they are required to cope with customer requirements and regulatory requirements on environmental issues on a regular basis. By certifying to the scheme, a company shall realize substantial long-term saving, increase in competitiveness, and towards its goals in achieving international recognition on its green management.
The Green Mark Certification Scheme is a voluntary certification programme. It is applicable to manufacturing and service companies of any size in Hong Kong, mainland China and Macau. The scope of the certification covers a system assessment and regular audits.
The Federation expects the Green Mark Certification Scheme to become a symbol of quality in environmental management for companies. Whilst Hong Kong companies need to ensure compliance with relevant environmental requirements in overseas market, they can also join the Green Mark scheme to show their customers that their environmental management system is certified by an independent and reputable certification body which is the Hong Kong Q-Mark Council.
